Trump Yelled $19B Somali Fraud and the “Mastermind” Is a White Lady

Trump told a crowd that Somali Minnesotans “pillaged” $19B from the government, like there’s a giant loot crate labeled WELFARE just sitting outside a mosque.

CBS News did the annoying adult thing and checked the math. The ~$18B-ish figure is basically the total federal funding for a bunch of programs since 2018 — the whole pile, not the amount allegedly stolen. The fraud actually under investigation is up to about ~$9B.

And the plot twist is so American it should come with a bald eagle jump-scare: the alleged ringleader tied to the Feeding Our Future case is Aimee Bock — a White woman.

Meanwhile, the part everyone quietly agrees on is that yes, fraud happens in giant government programs because we built a system where paperwork is vibes and oversight is a PowerPoint someone forgot to open.

But politically, it’s way more profitable to blame “immigrants” than to admit our institutions get cooked by anyone with a printer, a nonprofit, and zero shame.
