Using school lunch money as a political weapon is a level of petty that would get you fired from managing a Chipotle.

Politico says the Trump administration is pulling federal funds from blue states over “fraud” claims — and the immediate leverage isn’t some abstract spreadsheet. It’s school food and education dollars. You know, the stuff that keeps kids fed and classrooms functioning while adults cosplay as gods.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul called it “profound cruelty” and said kids are being used as “political pawns.” And yes, that is exactly what’s happening: little Timmy’s mozzarella sticks are now part of a negotiation strategy.

The administration’s line is that they’re protecting taxpayers from fraud.

If you actually cared about fraud, you’d do audits, prosecutions, and boring accountability stuff.
