Under-50 Democrats AND Republicans are now looking at Israel like it’s their weird uncle who won’t stop posting “just asking questions” memes at Thanksgiving.

Pew Research says majorities under 50 in both parties have negative views of Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu. Not “mixed feelings.” Not “it’s complicated.” Negative. That’s a generational faceplant for a relationship Washington has treated like a sacred wedding vow.

For decades, the U.S. foreign policy script was simple: Israel does something, Congress stands up like a North Korean audience and claps until their hands bleed, then the aid keeps flowing. Now the under-50 crowd is watching the same footage on their phones in 4K and going “why are my taxes doing side quests overseas while my rent is doing fentanyl?”

Politicians will call it a “complex shift in public sentiment” and “an evolving geopolitical environment.”

This matters because your government’s favorite hobby is writing checks in your name. If younger voters keep souring, that changes the political price tag of future conflicts, the ease of approving military aid, and which candidates get to cosplay as Tough Guy Internationally without getting booed.

Meanwhile, the older donors who still treat Netanyahu like a Marvel character are not giving up the wheel quietly. Expect louder speeches, thicker messaging, and more accusations of “extremism” aimed at anyone under 50 with a functioning nervous system.
