Nvidia Just Dropped $2B to Buy the AI Line at the Club

$2,000,000,000 just got yeeted into a company called Nebius because Nvidia is done letting peasants touch the GPU velvet rope.

Nvidia reportedly invested about $2B in Nebius, per WSJ via Tech Startups, and it’s not because Jensen Huang woke up craving “diversification.” It’s because the real choke point in AI isn’t ideas — it’s data centers, power, networking, and the physical space to jam enough GPUs into a building without the grid having a panic attack.

Nebius is basically “AI cloud capacity,” aka the thing every startup begs for like it’s insulin. Nvidia sells the shovels, sure. But now it’s also buying the mine, the road to the mine, and the guy at the gate with the clipboard.
