Democrats up 30 points with young men and politics is drunk again

That’s the Third Way survey claim for how young men would vote on a generic 2026 ballot, which is hilarious because we were all just told young dudes got permanently annexed by Trump, Andrew Tate, and the “podcast mic with a neon sign” industrial complex.

And before anyone starts printing “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” banners like it’s 2003, there’s a big asterisk: a massive chunk of these guys are still undecided. Which means this might not be a realignment so much as young men doing what young men do best: refusing to commit until the absolute last second, like it’s a situationship and the election is asking “what are we?”

Third Way—yes, the centrist Democratic shop that lives to say “actually, have you tried being normal?”—is basically waving this poll around like a priest holding garlic at a vampire.

If the numbers are even half real, it’s a political whiplash story. The “young men are gone forever” narrative may be premature, or it may be the kind of media storyline that exists because it gets clicks and makes consultants rich.

Meanwhile, Republicans have been bragging about “historic gains” with young men like they just discovered fire, and Democrats have been acting like every 19-year-old with a chinstrap beard is personally going to repeal the Constitution.

Your life doesn’t change based on which party wins a vibes contest. It changes on rent, wages, healthcare, student debt, and whether your boss can replace you with a smiling FAQ page.
